A good-looking gaggle of capable thespians grab their swords and frock up for some swashbuckling musketeering in 3D.
It’s the same old story. Young whippersnapper d'Artagnan breaths new life into his jaded heroes, Athos, Porthos and Aramis, and they set about saving their beloved France from all kinds of villainy.
The main villain though? Whoever thought it was a good idea to green light this film.
All for one and one for all? All for one and no fun for all.
Resident Evil director Paul WS Anderson unsurprisingly tries to modernise the classic tale with his delivery, using all his fancy slow-mo 3D chicanery but it borders on the ridiculous and does nothing for the story itself.
So I can't blame the cast for this dull and ridiculous movie, blame should be laid fair and square at the door of the silly script and its even sillier delivery.
What should have been a fun frivolous romp was instead a tired pseudo-videogame mash-up rammed with cheesy lines and bloodless action set-pieces.
Please, just make it stop.
One star.
