It's the literary phenomenon of the year, an erotic trilogy that's set the record as the fastest selling paperback of all time.
The Fifty Shades of Grey series has sold over 30 million copies so far, but it’s not just book stores that are benefitting from its success; sex toys have never been in such demand.
“Kegal balls have always been popular but now they're extremely popular because they've been in the books,” says Tara Sheriff of Peaches and Cream.
In the five years that I have worked in retail I have never seen a book fly off the shelves like this one,” says Kimberley of Paper Plus.
It's the first time main-stream book stores have scrambled to stock an erotic novel.
The Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy tells a graphic tale of a relationship that's based on bondage, discipline, dominance and submission, and it's causing a sexual surge in bedrooms here.
Peaches and Cream has had to order extra stock in from overseas to cope with demand.
“They know exactly what they want, or it's wives sending their husbands in to get the things because the wives have read the books and I'm saying come on guys you're going to benefit as well so don't be shy get in here,” says Ms Sheriff.
And back in the bookshop, a surprisingly wide range of readers are buying the books - more proof of that old adage: sex sells.
