Bruce Wills says one of his ewes has had quintuplets

Everyone loves a cute animal story, right? This is a story about lambs. Five of them.

Bruce Wills from Napier says one of his ewes has had quintuplets, which is very un-ewe-sual, and definitely something to bleat about.

It's the first time he's seen it in 25 years, but as Kate King reports, you have to be in quick.

Watch the video to see her report.

Hey Bruce 25 years. Geez mate. How come these weren't put in the yards earlier and sorted. What a let down for all sheep farmers, or were you having us on. In answer to Kates question how do you know which mum owns which lambs...Kate if the sheep and lambs were put in the sheep yard, you can plainly see. The mum will butt anything that's not hers, (no worries most lambs are off as soon as they sense this is going to happen). A couple of lambs and ewes are then let into another yard. So as each lamb/s are accepted by mum, they are put out into another yard or holding paddock and the process is started again. What a great opportunity missed. I would have love to see the quintuplets. Kate, you looked like you were having a great time. Well done video otherwise.
