Over the last two weeks we've heard all about Novopay and the seemingly endless problems it has caused.

Novopay failed to pay me for a total of 10 weeks throughout terms 3 & 4 of 2012.
Furthermore, they then failed to pay me any holiday pay over the holiday period.
This has all resulted in me missing mortgage payments, incurring late payment fees and bad credit, losing interest on savings I was forced to use, not to mention undue stress and hardship this has caused to me. I would like to know how I can apply for compensation?

I would be interested to know what is the amount currently withheld from teachers and others school workers vs the total overpaid. Is it possible that an error has been intentionally worked into the system allowing Novapay to gather funds via interest on unpaid salaries /paying salaries late?

The key with Novopay is to email them directly. They hate it and seem to fix the problem quickly. I have had my pay done incorrectly once by Novapay, and count myself one of the lucky ones. I took unpaid leave at the end of last term and our poor office administrator was extremely stressed that I wouldn't be paid while I was away. Really how hard can it be to get it right? I really feel for all of the people out there who are struggling! Bet the people who work for Novapay, don't use that pay system themselves, or they would be quick about fixing it up!

For the first four pay periods I received no payslip notifications so I couldn't check to see if my pay was correct. I was told that there was no holiday pay included in my first pay, but that I would receive it at the end of the year. Great. On requesting copies of the last four payslips I have received 19 emails in the last 24 hours covering the said four pay periods. All of them blank when opened up.The system wasn't broken before, why have they tried to fix it?If I ran a business like this I wouldn't have one for very long.I would take legal action against Novopay for breaking the Contracts Act, but I'm employed by the Board of Trustees and would have to sue them instead. How much relieving would I get then? Please will someone do something?

Iam desperate to be paid by Novopay. I am a relieving teacher who is owed over two thousand dollars. I teach on average 2-3 days per week and received no pay on 3rd Oct and 31 Oct. I have been teaching over 31 years and cannot believe the mess Novopay has created. I have no more funds to pay bills and am left wondering what to do next. Will I receive any pay next month?

I work as a relieving teacher for multiple local schools
As at 31/10/12 I haven't had one pay that has been right. I have had money paid with the wrong dates attached to them, days not being paid at all. arrears payments that don't line up with my own records of work, multiple days work logged as the same day, arrears payments with no correct dates and my favourite cock up of all... wait for it... I've even been paid for someone elses work at a school I've never heard of, let alone worked at! Oh and I nearly forgot in all the excitement, getting paid for a day that I worked correctly and then getting it taken back on the next pay circuit - that was weeks ago and I'm still waiting for it back. As for what I have heard about IRD, student loan and kiwisaver moneys not being put through - that one is just too scary to think about. And to top it all, out of desperation I rang novopay to let them know about all the issues and they refused to talk to me, telling me I have to deal with the school admin staff - IT'S NOT THEIR PROBLEM, NOVOPAY, IT IS YOURS. SORT IT OUT!

I do not have the statistics to check but Lesley mentioned the first novopay round only 30% of schools had the "ability" to use the online systems correctly. As a executive officer for a school I experienced it .The online system would not work, so I (and probably the other 2000-odd schools) sent forms in as we had no choice.... MOE please! Stop blaming the school administrators!

Actually I 've jsut done some checking up on my IRD accounts. None of my earnings details have been updated since the end of August and the YTD figures all correspond to my last payslip from the old DataPay system.
This means IRD have not recieved any of my PAYE or Student Loan deductions from my salary since NovoPay started on 5 September. I gather IRD are aware of this??
