Petrol prices: They are enough to make even the Dalai Lama have a bit of a whinge.
But in Thames at the bottom of the Coromandel peninsula they've got more reason than most to complain.
Cassandra from the Coromandel was so incensed she sent us this email:
I went shopping in Thames today and after seeing on 3 News that petrol is $2.06 a litre I thought I would fill my tank. I changed my mind when I got to BP however, as their price (the cheapest in Thames) was $2.14(.9)
Can you do a story on why the petrol price is so high in Thames please? If your reporter is coming from Auckland they may want to call into Ngatea & check the prices there, as I am told they are usually cheaper.
This is my whinge, so it could be your whinge of the week segment.
Cheers, Cassandra from Coromandel
