Shaquille Ioane's feet

Shaquille Ioane's feet

At six-foot-five and over 135 kgs, Shaquille Ioane is big.

His feet are huge – they’re 31 cm long but are very wide. He can only fit size 20 footwear.

While finding shoes is hard, finding rugby boots is even more difficult, and for a prop on a soggy rugby field, they are essential.

It's likely Shaq will have to look overseas, because the biggest foot in the All Blacks belongs to Luke Romano at size 17, while the Breakers' Alex Pledger has a teeny size 15.

And not many shops in New Zealand cater for much bigger than that.

With footwear so hard to come by, Shaq keeps all of his shoes, even when they're starting to talk.

Watch the video to meet Shaquille Ioane.

Hey! My 16 yeard old cousin had the exact same problem. He needs a size 18 pair of rugby boots as he is in the first fifteen rugby team for Tauranga Boys and can not seem to find any. He also has a hassle trying to find casual dress shoes too. So any suggestions of where i can find them? Thanks

Am just wondering if Shap really need size 21 shoes?because his feet is 31cm long but very wide arcording to Campbell life, and Luke Romano's feet are 32 cm long, only size 17, so i think Shap need size 16, but exra wide shoes, thats all.

Well Mr Key you have lost our vote. Selling state owned assets? Hey, sell EQC, there's an idea!

I am in that boat also. I am 21. 6ft9 and have size 16 Uk shoes and only own one pair of work shoes. Quite shameful because once they break I have to find another pair of shoes. That cost at least 300 dollars

We had similar issues with our son who got to 6'6" and 150kgs when he was 16. He went on a diet, cut back on the milk and got a lot fitter playing basketball. He dropped to 120kgs and he got an arch to his foot so he dropped a shoe size down from 16 to 15. Still hard to find shoes though. He's 18 now and gets his Basketball shoes from the US.

I totally appeciate the difficulty in finding large shoes, especially wide fittings such as 4E that Shaquille has. New Balance specialise in making wide fittings perhaps an approach could be made to them. P.S. Could you please tell us the name of the shop in Christchurch that sells large shoes. Thankyou
