Murphy's Law has some serious questions to answer!
FH was checking out the news on the net on Sunday when he stumbled across an announcement that one of his all time fave bands is coming to NZ for the first time in 14 odd years. Yup, AC/DC was coming and FH was excited.
That was of course until he read what date they're playing in Wellington.
30 January 2010
That's right, there's 365 days in a year, and AC/DC are scheduled to play in Wellington the same day we are getting married. DOH!
Now we'd specifically chosen our wedding date because it would allow people travelling to Wellington to make a holiday of it and stay for the Sevens the following weekend. A post-wedding hen and stag do was an important part of our plans, as there was no need to worry about the ill-effects from pre-wedding traditional do's (I'm thinking broken bones, black eyes, permanent pen etc!)
Now full credit to FH, he didn't once suggest we move the wedding, or even ask if there was the teeniest tiniest possibility we could change the date. Although he did joke via his Facebook status that he might have to do the wedding by teleconference, but that was all I heard of it!
After spending some further time on the net he discovered that AC/DC are playing in Auckland on 6 February, the week after our wedding. Of course that clashes with Day 2 of the Sevens, but that's not such a big issue.
So my proposal (because woman are such logical problem solving creatures): the boys head to the Sevens on the Friday (the best day really), then fly up to Auckland for AC/DC on the Saturday. It'll be a post-wedding double header of epic proportions!
Within minutes FH had emailed the plans off to his boys, so I await with interest their response.
I guess I should get to thinking about what the girls can do that weekend, seeing as we're all going to be temporary widows!
