The Invercargill City Council has discussed a strategy to save the Tiwai Point smelter.
Prime Minister John Key and Invercargill mayor Tim Shadbolt talk to Campbell Live about the smelter.
Saving the Tiwai Point aluminium smelter would, in the Prime Minister's words, cost a hell of a lot of money and he's not interested.
Dry conditions around Invercargill have made the area smell like Rotorua, Environment Southland says.
