Rugby League's newest event is translating into solid ticket sales - the day after they went on sale for next February's Nines tournament at Eden Park.
Promoter Dean Lonergan believes the gap in the NRL calendar generates its own interest.
"Coming out of the NRL grand finals which happen next week, the next cab off the rank in terms of the NRL is the Auckland Nines," he said.
"It’s gonna be a huge and exciting event that all of New Zealand should wanna be part of."
All 16 NRL clubs have signed on for the tournament which will see 256 star players in Auckland for the weekend’s games.
A sell-out crowd would see 48,000 fans pack into Eden Park for the event.
