'Tis the season! Not quite the Christmas season, and no, not quite the wedding season either. 'Tis the season for bridesmaids to fall pregnant!
I say this because I now know of four couples getting married in the first quarter of 2010 who will feature a pregnant bridesmaid in the wedding party. Us included!
Yes my bestie and her fiancé are expecting a wee bundle of joy in April. That means she'll be about 7 months pregnant at our wedding (and about 8.5 months pregnant at my other bestie's wedding, where, you guessed it, she's also a bridesmaid)!
Not to worry, no bridezilla moment here! We're all super excited about the news. And given that she broke the news to us very early in the peace (ah, bless the organised bridesmaid), it was barely a blip on the wedding planning radar. No spanner in the works as some might have expected! In fact quite the opposite. It means we have to go with made to measure dresses, and don't need to traipse through all the usual stores trying to find something that will fit and flatter both the girls.
Quite a relief in my mind, because now we can choose the perfect colour and fabric and go from there, instead of trying to find the perfect colour in an off the rack dress! Its a good thing I'm not too hung up on everything being all matchy-match. It’s ideal Neil!
The other implication I've discovered; there will be no forgetting the silly drunken antics we get up to on the hen's night, as we'll always have our sober bridesmaid to remind us (perhaps with photographic proof) exactly how we got that scraped knee and lost our favourite jacket... Hmm, perhaps this isn't such a great idea after all!
In other baby news, DF and I excitedly welcomed our first nephew into the world on Monday! Pleased to meet you little Fletcher :) Oh and do you know what month it is? It‘s dress month! Hopefully my dress will be here and ready for a fitting by the end of the month.
Excited much!?!
