Leaning out of a window to speak to 3 News today, man of the hour Mark Todd admitted he will give his plans to retire after London “a rethink.”

“The plan was always to come as far as London and we’ve done that – we’ll have to have a bit of a rethink,” said Todd.

Although Todd admitted he was “disappointed” after losing out on an individual medal, he says he has had a “brilliant” week in London.

“Well it’s not me it’s the whole team – we’ve just had a great week, it’s been brilliant, [we] are delighted to win a medal. We came here hoping we could get one and we’ve bagged the bronze and we’re just having a bit of a party here,” he said.

“[There’s] plenty to celebrate, you’ve got to make the most of it when you win something, you’ve got to celebrate it and we’re going to have a go.”

Todd also credits his inexperienced horse for its performance.

“I came here on a young horse, he’s very inexperienced. This time last year he had seen nothing like this.”

“He was very tired today… but he could have been a lot worse.”
