Tournament top seed Marina Erakovic has crashed out in the second round of the WTA women's tennis tournament in Bogota, Colombia.

New Zealand No.1 Erakovic fell to unseeded Romanian Edina Gallovits-Hall 6-4 6-4 in her first tournament since making the second round of the Australian Open last month.

The 58th-ranked Erakovic struggled with her first serve in the match, achieving just a 49 per cent success rate on the red clay at the Centro de Alto Rendimiento.

Her 27-year-old opponent, ranked 128 in the world, broke Erakovic's serve twice in the first set and claimed the sole break in the second set to secure victory.

Erakovic's demise means all the seeded players in the tournament have now been knocked out.
