Fashion store Topshop is opening in New Zealand.

The world famous store is coming to The Department Store, in Takapuna on Auckland’s North Shore.

Topshop is famous for taking looks hot off the catwalks and getting them onto the shelves quick smart.

At the helm of Topshop's entry to New Zealand is designer Karen Walker. She recently went on a Topshop buying trip where she chose pieces that will be available in New Zealand come mid-April. This range will be expanded to include Kate Moss’s popular collection from May.

Ms Walker is excited to be working with Topshop.

“They're a high-street store, but they’re not just chasing fashion. They’ve caught up and pinned it down and then overtaken it,” she says. "When you go into Topshop you get what’s in fashion right now.”

New Zealanders will have access to the clothes "three or four days after it comes out in London" according to Ms Walker.

Prices will be similar to those paid by New Zealanders when ordering from Topshop online.

..and that is reflected in the price - and the competition in the UK is red-hot. Perhaps, in time we'll have them all Marks & Sparks, BHS, Debhs, River Island and friends. I'll start saving now....
