Flooding in Nelson

Tourism operators in the flood-hit Tasman district are already seeing cancellations as a result of last week's severe flooding.

The next six weeks are crucial for businesses there, but some areas are without essential services and others are cut off.

The Pohara Beach Top Ten Holiday Park has been forced to close because it has no water.

And many accommodation providers have been receiving calls from people unsure whether they will still travel to the area.

In the Nelson area, another 30 homes have been evacuated in the rock's road area after further cracks appeared in the hillside, and the city's water supply is also being closely monitored due to slips.
