A Colombian rider does a victory lap after his win

New Zealand has a chance to win its first gold tonight at the world junior track cycling championships in Invercargill, with Waimate's Dylan Kennett second fastest qualifier in the men's individual pursuit.

So far the kiwis have collected seven medals, including a controversial silver last night.

And of course, with the high speed came some spectacular spills.
