Funnyman Tracy Morgan flew back to New York hooked up to an oxygen tank after losing consciousness at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah over the weekend.

The 30 Rock star was admitted to hospital after passing out at the Park City venue following his acceptance speech at the Creative Coalition Spotlight Awards.

He was treated for altitude sickness and exhaustion before being released and he flew back to New York on Monday to resume filming on the hit TV show.

However, Morgan was taking no chances with his health and was photographed walking through the airport while hooked up to an oxygen tank. The star was sporting a tube attached to his nose, but was still able to joke with the waiting photographers.

In footage obtained by TMZ.com, the star is seen telling snappers, "Superman ran into a little Kryptonite today."

Meanwhile, Morgan’s estranged mother is desperate to get in contact with the star following his hospitalisation.

Morgan's mother Alicia only learned of the incident by looking online - and when she tried to contact the hospital, she alleges staff refused to give her any information.

Now Alicia is reaching out to the actor to contact her because she wants to ensure he is alright.

She tells the New York Daily News, "Nobody's telling me anything. If his brothers or I don't look at the computer, we don't know anything that's going on in his life.

"When you're a mother and you love your kid, you don't want to read on the internet that he's sick or dead. I'm trying to find some way to get in contact."
