The
man who allegedly killed two men at his Auckland mansion in January last
year has pleaded not guilty to both murder charges, as his trial gets
under way in the High Court at Auckland on Monday.
Cheng-Qi
"Chris" Wang, 52, is accused of murdering Zhuo "Michael" Wu, 44, and
Yishan "Tom" Zhong, 53, at his Mt Albert home on January 14, 2011.
One man was found dead on the driveway, while the other died soon after he was found with serious injuries.
An autopsy showed the men died of stab wounds.
Wang's trial, before Justice Rebecca Ellis and a jury of four men and eight women, is set down for four weeks.
At
a previous court appearance in September, Wang's former defence lawyer
David Jones said he would argue that the two men attacked Wang and he
acted in self-defence.
Wang is now being represented by Tom Sutcliffe.
The jury was dismissed for the afternoon so technical issues in the court could be resolved.
The Crown is set to give its opening address on Tuesday morning.
