World famous in NZ??? Nah, look at the tributes on The Guardian UK site. This author has the world in mourning. I wonder how many children around the world have read or had read to them a Margaret Mahy story.
Any author who has a child discover the pure joy of reading deserves the highest accolade this world can honour.
