It's not just our guinea pigs' faces we've been using to test products - we're also putting their hair to the test. This week we're looking at Pantene Pro-V Nourished Shine Shampoo and Conditioner.

Pantene Says: “Nourishes your hair on the inside and helps strengthen it for shinier hair on the outside. It specifically targets the driest and most damaged parts of your hair for improved shine.”

Guinea Pig says: Im going to be honest. The last time I bought Pantene I ended up giving it to my mother. I used it twice and it made my hair so frizzy I needed a serum and my GHDs to calm it down. Mind you, I was a bottle blonde back then so perhaps I needed more help than a supermarket shampoo and conditioner could provide.

I test Shampoos and conditioners by using them, and then watching to see if my hair frizzes up after letting it air dry. If it is frizz free, silky and voluminous without having to use any products or appliances , then it is good. And this shampoo and conditioner passed the test - much to my surprise.

I am however a red head now and my hair is in much better condition anyway. This formula is for added shine and I think it did provide that.

I would recommend it for people with normal, relatively healthy hair who would like more shine. It would also be a good shampoo and conditioner to use as back up for when you need to alternate your products (its good to do that you see).

The nicest thing, I think, about any Pantene Shampoo and conditioner is the lovely fragrance that lingers for days after using it.

I have been using Pantene for over 10 years & since the new look containers, the product is very disappointing. It leaves my hair dull, lifeless, sticky with a wet look with no shine or softness. What has happened? I tried just the shampoo & no conditioner - a little better but with both shampoo & conditioner, it looks as though it needs a good wash! (I use the Colour Therapy for streaked hair) I look forward to your comments.
