Tristram Clayton's fascination with news and current affairs was sparked by an interview in 1976 with then Prime Minister Rob Muldoon. Tristram was six at the time and concerned by the new leader's intention to "cut the doll". It took a year to understand he was talking about the ‘dole’.
In a bid to never again be caught out, he has spent the rest of his life studying everything and anything.
He studied both Science and Arts at university and spent eight years as an English teacher in Spain, a PR consultant in France and a construction worker in Germany.
At the age of 30 he returned to New Zealand where he quickly realised the only thing such a random collection of skills was any good for was journalism.
Tristram has won three awards for his work as a TV reporter - all from the NZ Skeptics Society.
Tristram loves the NZ Skeptics Society.
