Two Serepisos companies placed in receivership

Two companies owned by Wellington businessman Terry Serepisos have been placed in receivership.

The embattled owner of the Wellington Phoenix has made several court appearances lately trying to avoid bankruptcy.

According to the NBR John Fisk and Richard Longman of PriceWaterHouseCoopers were appointed receivers on May 19.

The two companies are 79 Manners Street and Maison Property Holdings, and the receivership has been appointed by frozen lender Equitable Mortgages.

79 Manners Street owes Equitable Mortgages $11 million and Maison Property Holdings $2 million.

The companies own a number of Wellington apartments on Tory Street and Courtenay Place and the Century City Tower at 175 Victoria Street.

The tower is worth around $6 million.
