Seriously, what has happened to quality, honest journalism? Or did they just not research this? This event had nothing at all to do with the closure of Gardies. The keg party, as the Dunedin Police are also aware ( as stated in this very article), is an annual event, with relatively few issues. A couple of irresponsible students decided to burn some couches but they do not represent the majority of the students who were just there to have a good time. This article is out of sync with reality and once again media hype has won over the facts of what it is to be a student in Dunedin. The party was well organised, with free sausages being given out to hungry students and the few issues that amounted were all that were shown. Very disappointing.
