Two people have been charged with causing the death of a truck driver on the Otira Highway in Westland last June.
The men were charged with carelessly operating a vehicle causing death after Pikiora Lewis Jones, 34, of Napier, died on June 22.
Mr Jones was driving on the road between Arthur's Pass and the West Coast on a steep, narrow stretch of the highway when the truck plunged 24 metres off the road to the edge of the Otira River.
Police said the two men charged would appear in Greymouth District Court on February 14.
