Sara if you read the article properly, there are no treatments for this superbug. We are already seeing multi resistant bacteria out there and there have been very few advances in finding new antibiotics lately. There are people out there now who have drug resistant E Coli infections. It won't be long before we are dragging out the old fashioned remedies like bread poultices and maybe seeing people once again dying from simple diseases like a bladder infection, sore throat, infected wound, or infection after having a baby. The flu campaign, getting people to sneeze and cough into their elbow, and wash hands after blowing their nose, will become even more important. A recent survey in Wellington showed how bad we are at this simple way or preventing bugs from spreading. Next time you are out in public, see if a parent comments when their child coughs everywhere.
