UK doctors scarce after dark

The British Health Minister, Mike O’Brien, has admitted there is an "unacceptable" variation in doctors' out-of-hours care across England.

O’Brien’s comments follow a report which said in some areas doctors are only agreeing to one in 50 requests for a visit.

However, there is a separate concern that even if you do manage to get one to call, the quality of care is patchy at best - and at worst it could prove fatal.
