US stunt pilot killed during air show

A stunt pilot in the United States was killed during an air show after the plane he was in failed to pull out of a steep dive.

Witnesses said the red biplane was performing loops when the accident happened and the crowd fell silent when the plane hit the ground, bursting into flames.

The pilot is said to have more than 23,000 hours of flight time and 15 years of flying aerobatics to his name.
