One man who really made a bang at the Olympics this year was Usain Bolt.

He's now officially the fastest man in world, taking his Olympic gold tally to six at the London Games. But now Bolt has indicated he may return to his first love – cricket - and Shane Warne plans to bring him down under.

The superstar used to play the game until he was convinced to make the switch to athletics, and says he'd jump at the chance to play again.

Bolt told Channel Nine in Australia that Warne wants him to bowl for the Melbourne Stars in the next Twenty20 Big Bash league.

"He's contacted me to see if I'm serious, if I really want to do it," says Bolt. "He can put in a few words and get it done, so we'll see."

Bolt played junior cricket in Jamaica before switching disciplines and going on to make history in track and field.

But a charity match in 2009 showed he still has a natural flare for cricket, clean-bowling West Indies captain Chris Gayle and hitting him for six.

He hasn't played professionally, but he's keen to take that step.

"If I get the chance I'll definitely try, because I know it will be a lot of fun," says Bolt.

"I don't know how good I am now. I'll probably have to get some practice in maybe. It will be all fun though."

Whether he heads down under depends on Shane Warne and the Melbourne Stars' management. They have been in negotiations with Bolt since June, and further talks are expected now that the Olympics are out of the way.

"Twenty20, I just love it, just the fact that it's so exciting," says Bolt. "It's about going hard the whole time, not just about playing shots. It's about being aggressive and I like that style of batsman."

If all goes well, we could see the superstar bowling at the MCG in the near future.
