R&B star Usher has refused to cover his ex-wife Tameka's legal costs as they continue to battle for custody.

Tameka Raymond filed paperwork in December demanding full custody of their sons Usher Raymond V, four, and three-year-old Naviyd, as well as an increase in her child support payments.

Last month she stepped up her fight for more cash by asking a judge in Georgia to order her former lover to hand over US$50,000 for the cost of her attorney's fees, insisting the substantial difference in their incomes puts her at a disadvantage in the courtroom.

Now the ‘Burn’ hitmaker has fired back in new documents denouncing Raymond's request, claiming he's already coughed up US$25,000 for her lawyers and shouldered the brunt of the financial burden thus far.

According to TMZ.com, Usher also accused the stylist of consistently defying court orders and filing unnecessary motions, which "directly harm the best interests of the minor children".
