Air New Zealand's newest Boeing 777-300ER has landed at Auckland Airport, complete with an All Black-inspired paint job.

The Boeing is black from nose to tail overlaid with the silver fern, as part of Air New Zealand’s sponsorship of the NZRU and the All Blacks.

It landed just before 9am, and was welcomed by a crowd of Air NZ and airport staff.

CEO Rob Fyfe was on board, and spoke to reporters after stepping off the plane.

Transforming the plane into the world’s largest black commercially operated aircraft was no mean feat – 14 expert painters worked around the clock to get the job done.
