It took a lot longer for Chelsea to get on the scoreboard in their first Asia Tour match today against Hong Kong’s Kitchee.
But after34 minutes – on the back of immense pressure on the Kitchee goal – a penalty was awarded when Yossi Benayoun was brought down in the penalty area.
Captain Frank Lampard stepped up and calmly slotted it home.
Then early in the second half Kitchee put one into their own net for 2-0.
And on the stroke of 60 minutes Drogba headed home bravely for 3-0.
Daniel Sturridge added another with about 12 minutes to go, beating a couple of players and finishing strongly.
