Athletes return to celebrations

The New Zealand Olympic team will begin their journeys back into the country later this morning following the conclusion of the London 2012 Olympics.
But while the official celebrations of their efforts are still over a week away the rest of the world have already begun theirs.
In Kabul, Afghanistan celebrated their taekwondo bronze medallist Rohullah Nikpai’s return by hoisting him on their shoulders and chanting “long live Nikpai, we are proud of you.”
In South Africa, security was needed to hold back their supporters.
They returned with six medals to their name, 23rd on the medal table, but still the top ranked African nation.
