It's not exactly a red carpet ceremony, but United States President Barack Obama's second-term inauguration had an unmistakable Hollywood look.

There was a loud cheer for Beyonce and Jay-Z as they took their places at the Capitol to watch Obama take the public oath of office for his second term, before Beyonce sang the US national anthem.

Also during the ceremony Kelly Clarkson sang ‘My Country, ‘Tis of Thee’ and James Taylor performed ‘America the Beautiful’.

Actress Eva Longoria was seated on the platform outside the Capitol. Also in the crowd were singer Katy Perry and John Mayer.

Former Boston Celtics great Bill Russell was in the crowd too.

PS: Camille you may wish to lead the US to correct it's profound illiteracy by using a capital I and capital's when being a proud African American, and I assume you have a three year old son? Even my current typing is corrupted by US grammar and spell check on an Apple Mac.

I actually feel more hope and change this time than President Obama's first term. I knew it was going to take alot of alligator wrestling to keep our country alive especially after the terrorism of the W administration under whom I lost everything. First I lost my job, then I lost my car, then I lost my home, then I lost my mind. Now I have several disabilities and inspite of my fears, I do actually feel hopeful! I think President Obama did his best, in spite the "Party of NO" to have laid the foundation for what is yet to come. I'm all in, Prez, I'm all in!!
