Boris Gadasin and Dan Shchemel survived a brake scare to take out the 2012 Silk Way Rally.
Gadasin’s finished the final day’s stage in third due to a 15 minute stand down period as his car was assessed for brake problems.
He was later conformed overall winner by a margin of three and a half minutes.
Pre race favourite Lucio Alvarez seemed to hit his straps on the final day, skirting past any car or terrain problems, however his challenge faded later in the day.
