The first couple of New Zealand sport, Dan and Honor Carter, announced yesterday via social network site Twitter they are expecting their first child.
All Blacks first five-eighth great Dan Carter tweeted the news from London, prompting waves of congratulatory messages on social media.
Dan says that he’s “very excited” and it’s news that they’ve known about for a while but have kept quiet.
“She’s (Honor) well over halfway now so we thought it was time to share,” says Carter.
He’s had some advice from All Blacks with children too since announcing the news.
“I’m making the most of the next few months," he says. "Make sure I get plenty of sleep, that’s the advice from the guys who have had children."
The couple do not know if they are having a boy or a girl.
