England soccer legend Bobby Charlton carried the Olympic Torch in Manchester on day 37 of the torch relay.
Hundreds of spectators braved the wet conditions in Manchester to cheer the day's first torchbearer, BMX cycling world champion Shanaze Reade.
The Briton, who has won six world titles across BMX and track cycling, carried the torch whilst cycling through Media City as confetti streamed down around her.
Charlton, the former England and Manchester United star, carried the flame up Sir Matt Busby Way to the front of Manchester United's Old Trafford stadium.
He greeted fans along the way before stopping in front of the iconic Trinity statue, which depicts United's 'Holy Trinity' of himself, George Best and Denis Law.
Charlton, who was a member of the England World Cup winning side in 1966, handed the flame on to Heather Davidson.
Charlton paid tribute to the spectators who turned out to watch the torch relay.
"It's a great honour for them to actually allow us to actually host the Olympic Games so that's why they come and also they're very patriotic, everybody loves Manchester, everybody loves England and it's just something that you don't get the opportunity to do and to celebrate, it is magic," said Charlton.
