Former Parramatta Eels coach and current man at the helm of the Kiwis, Steven Kearney, has been under the spotlight of late following “initial” discussions with the embattled New Zealand Warriors club.
The Warriors have lost six games in the trot in the NRL and coach Brian McClennan is searching for a way forward.
3 News sport rugby league reporter, Sam Ackerman, spoke with Kearney at length about the Kiwis job and upcoming test against the Kangaroos in October, his woes with the Eels and the Warriors.
Kearney has been vocal that he is keen to try and help the Warriors out and says he “feels for” McClennan and the “tough old place” he, the team and the club find themselves in.
