Video has emerged of an alleged violent attack at Eden Park in Auckland yesterday afternoon.

The footage shows a security guard allegedly hitting a young man in the stomach with his friend's skateboard and then smashing the board against a wall.

The incident came after two young men went inside the skate park to skateboard. Eden Park Trust, which manages security at the park, says the gate was closed.

Things turned ugly when the guard arrived, accused the teenagers of trespassing and attempted to evict them from the property.

One of the young men caught it all on camera and uploaded it to YouTube.

No one was injured in the confrontation.

What a disappointment.Once again we see a guard who is NOT properly trained in his duties.Eden Park you need to sort out your procedures. The guard was well within his rights to kick out the boys, however, he has NO RIGHT, to destroy the skateboard.I have worked in this industry for over 20 yrs-like Ray, but as the boys were complying to the request to leave, the guard did not need to destroy the skateboard. The guard had an anger problem, its guards like this that give our industry a bad name. There are better ways to deal with this situation.I would also be concerned with why gates were unsecured for these boys to walk right in.

I do have to wonder what happened before this part of the filming. They were giving the guard some lip perhaps. His reaction looks like there was more than what we have seen. Is this really the type of reporting we want on TV with only one side of the story. The guard did over react but the kids should and did know better. Just a group of very silly little boys trying to get on youtube.

@Dave O'Donohue you're obviously connected to the security company that works there (P4 Group who are consequently unlicensed) or you wouldnt be bagging and trying to draw other companies into this debate. Look at the culprits rather than throwing up excuses!!

Everybody sticking up for the rent-a-pig has got to realise he's in the wrong. He's there to maintain security, not to be hired muscle. It's obvious these little idiots would have posed no threat so he should have gave a verbal warning and got their details . Then if they decided they don't want to listen, ring the cops and make them do their job. It may have happened beforehand but all this video shows is him committing serious assault, destruction of property and possibly vandalism if Eden park want to save their security image. He should be fired all ready.

Yes I agree that the comments are valued from both sides, and the concerns with youth thinking they are invincible and rules do not apply to them. Is a concern for many people in the securty industy, but apart of this job is dealing with unexpected situations like this where your skills as a security guard is tested. Knowing how teenager are these days, the security guard should of just ignored them read them there rights and told them they would get there board back after they have left the stadium. With his temper getting the best of him the security guard compromised his job,and integrity and made a wrong judgment which ended up him hitting Ethan for no reason only because he was in the line of his anger and rage. This was unprofessional and wrong, Regardless on who was wrong or right he was the authority and the adult. Teenagers will find this a joke, and if he had just done his job then this would not ended up on the 6 o' clock news.

Get over it, these idiots were stupid to have trespassed in the first place. Eden Park is nothing like a house, its well worth more and has more significance then these boys will ever know. Its obviously not called eden 'skate' park so take your toys and play elsewhere. Its home to many rugby greats and if you think "the door was open" is excuse enough to walk in to private property then you are stupid.

Well done to the guard, these young thugs think they can do what they like when they like and anywhere they like. of course in our mamby pamby society every one else is to blame for them trespassing. They had been warned several times.

Those boys parents should lay charges of assault. That security guard could have seriously done intenal injury to that young man. Ok we know they shld not have trespassed, but who was the adult in all this. Assault is more serious than trespass. That security guard should be fired. I wouldnt employ someone like that who takes law into his own hands. Crickey NZ is such a violent country.
