Fiji have romped to a 28 – 5 win over Samoa, to set up a mouth-watering clash with New Zealand in the final of the Hertz Wellington Sevens.

What promised to be a tantalysing clash between the two Pacific Island nations turned into a lopsided affair with Fiji out scoring the Samoans four tries to one.

It could have been a very different affair had Samoa managed to open the scoring, which they very nearly did, only for Nemani Nagusua to fall just short.

But it was all Fiji from then on, utterly dominating Samoa in every aspect of the match.

A try to Levani Botia from a lineout gave Fiji the lead, and a masterclass in dancing feet from Emosi Vucago gave them a 12-0 lead at the break.

From there, Samoa shut up shop, and Fiji fired a warning across New Zealand's bow. Metuisela Talebula scooped up a wayward Samoan pass and jogged his way through a huge gap to put Fiji out of range, 19-0.

Despite Faatoina Autagavaia scoring a consolation try for the Samoans, it was Fiji who had the last say through their man of the match Botia, who sauntered his way to his second try.

But there won't be any sauntering later tonight when they come up against New Zealand and 30,000 rabid fans at Westpac Stadium.

Watch the video for all the try highlights.
