PADDLED - Lisa Carrington claims the first kayak gold in the K1 200 and New Zealand's fifth gold of the Olympics.

BLITZED - The world record in the men's 4X100m relay final by Jamaica's sprint team, with world champion Usain Bolt winning his third gold of the Games in the process.

SCORED - The fastest goal in Olympic football history after Mexican forward Oribe Peralta's scored 29 seconds into the gold medal win over Brazil.

ENDED - The track and field events of the Games of the 30th Olympiad, with Great Britain's Mo Farah winning his second gold before an elated home crowd.
