The New Zealand Breakers took out the ANBL Championship last week and last night it was the turn for the players to receive individual awards.

And it was the team’s star point-scoring guard that scooped the prize-pool, winning the club's MVP award.

Penney was awarded the overall player of the season award, along with the MVP's MVP award, voted on by the club's season ticket holders.

The players chose Mika Vukona as their MVP, while Australian CJ Bruton earned the Clubman of the Year for contributions to the club on and off the court.

Also acknowledged again on the night were Penney and Gary Wilkinson, who were both named to the ANBL's All-NBL First Team and Kevin Braswell, who was named ANBL Best Sixth Man.
