Yes, it looks a mess but I don't feel it's as bad as the Catholic Cathedral. We are continually told it is unsafe, but after so many aftershocks it's still standing.

If the cathedral has to be demolished there are aspects that can and should be saved for posterity - albeit re-used in a new building so all is not lost forever...something of the original should remain. I would rather see the Cathedral restored to its former glory if at all possible.
