Cyclist Simon van Velthooven’s dead-heat in the men’s keirin final was among the most thrilling New Zealand Olympic moments.
His desperate lunge for the finish line saw him finish third equal with Dutchman Teun Mulder after a photo finish could not separate them.
Van Velthooven arrived home yesterday and says already he’s eyeing Rio in four years' time.
“We can’t wait to get back into training and get stuck into the road to Rio,” van Velthooven told Firstline.
Firstline’s Sam Ackerman talks with Simon van Velthooven about his medal-winning finish and plans for the future.
