Amir Kahn was in fine form as the former Super Lightweight World Champion held a workout for the media ahead of his upcoming title fight against unbeaten Danny Garcia.
Khan, who is coming off a controversial loss to Lamont Peterson in December, was initially looking forward to a rematch in May that was called off after Peterson tested positive for synthetic testosterone.
Still, Khan is confidant as he prepares for his world title fight against undefeated phenom and current WBC Super Lightweight World Champion, Garcia.
"At the moment we are lucky to get this fight early," said the soft-spoken Khan. "I am going to capitalize on it and make the most of it by knocking Danny Garcia out and be know as the best 140-pound fighter."
Taking on the young fighter from Philadelphia will not be an easy fight, but as Khan explains, he only wants to fight the best.
"I like 50-50 fights, I like tough fights because I like to prove it to myself that I am a great fighter and a better fighter," said Khan. "Also to prove to my fans who pay to watch me fight, who travel all the way to Vegas or whatever, to see me fight that I want to put them into an exciting fight, so they can see me and enjoy a night of boxing."
Assuming Khan is able to get past Garcia, his trainer Freddie Roach raised the idea of his fighter moving up a weight class to take on Floyd Mayweather.
"He's in a good place right now," said Roach. "We are getting ready to win a couple of belts, possibly stay and get all four belts or move up maybe to 147 pound division for a Mayweather fight. So we are in a good place right now."
Roach also trains Khan's stablemate, Manny Pacquiao, who has been linked many times with a fight against Mayweather that has never happened.
The WBC light-welterweight title between Khan and Garcia will take place at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on June 14.
