A major component in the success of the Chiefs this season has been their front row, none more so than try-scoring freak, loosehead prop Sona Taumalolo.
So 3 News' rugby editor Hamish McKay travelled south to chat with players with the low numbers on their backs to get the good oil as they prepare for the final against the Sharks from South Africa in Hamilton this Saturday.
Taumalolo, confident that he dotted down in the semifinal against the Crusaders, says that the combination of himself, hooker Mahonri Schwalger, and tighthead prop Ben Tameifuna is successful due to each working for the other. He even adds his try-scoring feats is a result of being at the end of a string and thanks to the team working as one he just “finishes off”.
Watch the video as McKay has a yarn and even packs down against the fearful front row.
