Kiwi golfer Michael Campbell has shown good form at the Portugal Open over the weekend.
The 2005 US Open winner played some of his best golf in recent years to finish in third place, two shots off the pace.
Campbell has admitted that his form slump following the US Open win was, in large part, attributed to a lack of practice due to over-committing to events off the golf course.
But his golf over the past few days may be a signal of better things to come and the start of digging his way out of the slump.
“I’m very pleased,” Campbell said after a final round that included six birdies and three bogeys.
“I can walk away this week very happy indeed. I enjoyed the whole week… seeing my name up on the leaderboard. It’s been a while; it’s been a long time.
