A West Auckland resident has captured on camera the moment a tornado hit Hobsonville.
The amateur footage, shot from inside the second storey of a building, shows a window being lashed by strong winds and rain.
At least three people have been killed following severe weather in west Auckland this afternoon.
The major storm felled trees, cut power and stranded several aeroplanes on the tarmac at Auckland International Airport.
