V8 supercar boss Tony Cochrane has confirmed that next year’s Hamilton 400 will be the last time the series races in New Zealand.

Cochrane says he's looked at all the alternative venues but for now none stack up meaning that the supercars simply have nowhere to race.

He describes the whole scenario as being dealt a “crappy deck of cards, I gotta tell you.”

TV3 can take some of the blame for this. Your coverage over the years has been spotty (you've missed out many non-championship races), packed to the gills with ad breaks, a day late in many cases and shown after midnight on a Sunday, a popular timeslot I'm sure. All in all a pitiful effort.

I can't believe our NEW council in Auckland can't see that Pukekohe is the best and only place we could have this event, invest some money in Pukekohe and motor sports and bring Auckland to the World like you did for the World cup rugby. Stop seating on your hands and make a decision and invest in upgrading Pukekohe, come on Len make it happen
