Boris, the obese Aussie pig, is not pleased about his strict new diet.

When Julie and Graeme Cain from Adelaide first adopted Boris as a pet piglet, they were told he was a miniature pig. But he grew fatter and fatter.

Earlier in the year, Boris was weighing in at a hefty 250kg. Today he tips the scales at 220kg.

Even after losing 30kg of excess pork, he is not happy piggy.

"Whenever he's having a bit of a temper tantrum, he'll do something destructive. Something that will really annoy me, just like a three-year-old kid," said Boris' owner, Julie Cain.

Boris must now lose even more weight, as his obesity is even affecting his eyesight.

"He's finding it a lot harder to see, because it's hanging all down his eyes," explained Cain.

Boris needs an operation to remove the fat enveloping his eyes, but the veterinarian doesn't have an operating table big enough to hold him.

"He wouldn't get on an ordinary operating table. He'd crush it. I even had thoughts of getting a second hand treadmill," said Cain.

Since being put on a strict diet, Boris has taken matters into his own hands and has been raiding the family fridge for a midnight snack.

Before he can go under the knife for an operation, Boris still needs to lose a quarter of his body weight. At least then, nobody will be able to call him a fat pig.
