New Zealand has its own version of the "Bumcrack Bandit" after a shopper captured footage of an altercation between staff and three alleged shoplifters at a Rotorua supermarket.
Police have since arrested two of the women, but are still seeking the third.
In the video, one women's skirt revealed a sight more generally associated with tradesmen, following the incident at the Countdown store in Fenton Street last Wednesday.
Footage was captured on a mobile phone and uploaded to by YouTube user Turiwiki.
It shows the women wrestling over a supermarket bag with two supermarket staff before one of the women clouts a staff member with her handbag.
It is not known at this stage whether the women whose skirt has come low was one of those arrested.
Rotorua police said two women, aged 30 and 50, had been arrested and charged with aggravated assault and theft. They will appear in court on Monday.
Acting Rotorua area commander, Inspector Ed van den Broek, says the YouTube clip was a very useful addition to the investigation after a complaint was laid.
"Good solid police work had helped identify the alleged offenders, but the clip provided us with some visuals allowing us to confirm this work.
"We don't know who was responsible for the clip and whether they were associated with the offenders, but it has certainly been helpful."
Mr van den Broek said a number of people had alerted police to the clip, which meant people were taking an active interest in community safety.
Last month police in Australia released footage of a Gold Coast armed robbery in which one of the robbers wore low-slung jeans, and was dubbed "the Bumcrack Bandit".
