India's captain Sehwag celebrates after scoring 200 runs during their fourth one-day international cricket match against West Indies in Indore (Reuters)

The record books have been re-written this morning with the highest score in one day international history.

Virender Sehwag hit 219 for India, beating team mate Sachin Tendulkar's benchmark of 200 as the Indians belted the West Indies by 153 runs.

Sehwag's double tonne came off just 140 balls with 23 fours and 6 sixes.
